Congratulations to the Nano Portfolio Program’s Spring 2014 Travel Award Winners

The Doctoral Portfolio Program in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology is proud to announce this semester’s recipients of the Travel Award:

  • Morgann Berg (Physics), who will give an oral presentation entitled “Magnetic force microscopy of magnetic domains in UMn2Ge2″ at the American Physical Society March Meeting 2014;
  • Kyongmo An (Physics), who will give an oral presentation entitled “Control of propagating spin waves via spin transfer torque in a metallic bilayer waveguide” at the American Physical Society March Meeting 2014;
  • Xiaobin Xu (Materials Science & Engineering), who will give two oral presentations (“Ultrasensitive Rotary Nanomotors for Controlled Biochemical Release and Detection with Raman Spectroscopy” and “Free Standing Three-Dimensional Porous Graphite/Ni(OH)2 Foam for Supercapcitors”) at the 2014 Materials Research Society Spring Meeting & Exhibit

This award, which is handed out each long semester, is given to three students to cover up to $1,000 of expenses for travel to a national conference to present nano-themed research.  Congratulations again to this semester’s winners!
